The AGTC Microarray facility makes Affymetrix® GeneChip® technology available to all investigators. We have recently upgraded all of the microarray equipment to allow use of new high-density arrays as well as increased throughput. With two GeneChip® Fluidics Station 450s controlling the washing and staining of up to 8 GeneChip® arrays at one time, we are able to insure uniformity of treatment for all samples. The new GeneChip® 3000 scanner allows scanning of the high resolution arrays, and the integrated autoloader maintains a controlled environment ensuring assay integrity for 48 arrays for up to 16 hours. The facility allows investigators to receive gene expression data from total RNA samples (RNA isolation is also available). The Microarray facility follows the recommended quality control protocols including Agilent Bioanalyzer testing. A new service offered by the Microarray Facility are the Affymetrix® resequencing and mapping arrays. The mapping arrays allow the user to performing linkage analysis using up to 10,000 polymorphisms on one array. The resequencing arrays allow an investigator to obtain sequence data for up to 30kb of double stranded DNA. These resequencing arrays are available as ready-made assays as well as the CustomSeq™ arrays that allow the user to design their own resequencing arrays.
